Greetings from NYU London. We’re so excited to introduce ourselves as two of USWIB’s Study Abroad Liaisons. We’ve been here for about a month now, and we’re absolutely loving it. Sachi is studying Finance and Accounting with a minor in Psychology, and I’m studying Finance and Management with a minor in Media, Culture, and Globalization.
Both of us met in USWIB last semester, and we’re now rooming together as a result of a USWIB love story. For the first two weeks we were here, it rained every single day and made the city extremely depressing. However, these past few days have been sunny and beautiful, just as we’ve settled into our respective routines. Studying abroad has turned out to be such a valuable experience for the both of us so far. Our world has become increasingly global on so many platforms, and it’s rewarding to have a perspective of this concept from another continent. In fact, the idea of simply being in a foreign city, with a new set of customs and way of daily life, is one of the many beautiful aspects of studying abroad that everyone should take advantage of. In our case, London is every bit as vibrant and diverse as we’d heard—even more so than New York in some ways. We’re incredibly fortunate to be able to actually immerse ourselves in the city, experience its culture, and get to know the locals; we see pictures of the Big Ben clock tower and the London Eye and hear things about London on the internet, but it’s just not the same as seeing it in person.
Check out our mini video blog introduction (we think we’re hilarious, but we apologize in advance for the awkwardness), and also some cool pictures to see what we’ve been up to this past month.
